The Feasibility Study Consultancy Contract was given to the combined team of ‘Locality’ and Museum Development North West’ (MDNW) who will complete their report by the end of 2017.

Locality is the national network of ambitious and enterprising community-led organisations, working together to help neighbourhoods thrive and inspiring ambitious and dedicated community-led organisations and associate members. They have unrivalled experience of community asset development and transfer including the transfer of property assets from local authorities to community organisations and extensive experience of working with and supporting communities, including the development of sustainable business models and risk assessment. In addition, they have a track record in working with community organisations on governance, incorporation and developing effective partnerships with voluntary, private sector and statutory organisations and a detailed understanding of financial sustainability.

Museum Development North West  is a regional support organisation for Arts Council England (ACE) Accredited museums across the North West. Their approach is to enable the heritage sector to adopt a culture of independence and self-reliance; their vision a strong, agile and diverse museums sector in the North West, embedded in local culture and responds to local community needs as well as supporting cultural tourism to benefit local economies and engagement with collective histories. They aim to support museums in providing advice and support around collections development and review, specifically through industrial heritage, numismatics network and natural history network.
